ABOUT PONCE HEALTH SCIENCES UNIVERSITY - ST LOUIS
Ponce Health Sciences University St. Louis aims to create real-world opportunities for aspiring medical professionals and clinical psychologists. As a satellite campus of Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico, they are working to continue the mission of lifting students who come from historically underrepresented backgrounds in health sciences with quality education, so they can excel in needed medical positions around the country. With a diverse pool of prospective students, highly credentialed educators, and a new facility located in downtown St. Louis, PHSU is growing and adding to their degree programs regularly.
LINKAGE OPPORTUNITIES
Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine, an LCME accredited institution with campuses in Ponce, Puerto Rico and St. Louis, Missouri offers an MD program interview to the top 20% of MSMS program graduates. Those offered an interview must have a minimum MCAT score of 494, cannot have taken the MCAT more than 3 times and may need to respond to requests for follow-up information regarding coursework and performance.
A.T. Still University - Kirksville offers a guaranteed admissions interview to their DO or DDS program to MSMS students who graduate from PHSU St. Louis with a GPA of at least 3.3 and an MCAT over 500, as well as shadowing hours with a DO (which PHSU is prepared to help you earn). AACOMAS Application and supplemental must be completed by program deadlines.
Why PHSU - ST LOUIS?
The MSMS program started in 2014 at PHSU's main campus in Puerto Rico and has continue to have a dramatic effect on pathways for students entering medical school who were previously denied or didn't have a clear path.
Additionally, MSMS graduates admitted to PHSU's medical school consistently outperform their classmates in both curriculum and on USMLE Step 1 scoring.
